Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter, and musician from England. He was a member of One Direction. Born at Holmes Chapel (Cheshire), England, on 1 February 1994, he is the son of Des Styles, and Anne Cox. Harry Styles went to the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive school, together with his fellow classmates, formed a musical group called White Eskimo. After they won the Battle of Bands 2009 thanks to a stellar performance, they were also a part of the Battle of Bands in 2010. He was always interested in music. However, he was enthused to be an attorney or a physical therapist. A part-time job in a city bakery was his first job to earn money for the family. For the year 2010 Harry Styles presented audition for The X Factor where he performed the song Is not She Lovely by Stevie Wonder and was selected. This is why his band broke up. Nicole Scherzinger, the jury participant of The X Factor suggested Harry Styles be part of a group called One Direction with Liam Payne Zayn Mlik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. The formation of the group took place in the year 2010 and the five youngsters were supported by Simon Cowell. The group performed hits such as My Life Would Suffer Without You which was written by Kelly Clarkson, and Total Eclipse of the Heart, by Bonnie Tyler during the competition. They were one of the contenders for the award. They were however in third place just behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles did not receive any cash prize. However, Cowell offered a 2-million-pound deal with One Direction in order for the group to join Syco Records.
