Lucy-Liu

Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress as well as a director producer and singer. An attractive, clever and gifted actress, she is an example to Asian actors who are aspiring to become big names in Hollywood. Her initial success was enhanced when she appeared in a few popular shows. There, she portrayed the villainous Ling Woo. The fame she gained from the show was translated into movie roles, such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. She gave a stellar performance as Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In the meanwhile, she also played leading roles in several film that did not make the top of the charts, like Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started voicing characters from animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason from Cashmere Mafia was an unimportant role which didn't have any impact. Southland - a critically acclaimed crime drama - helped establish Liu as an actress of the future. Liu picks her roles wisely so that she doesn't become a typecast character in the highly competitive field. She's taken on her Chinese heritage however she has not let them hinder her creative abilities.
